The original pencil drawing on graph paper of imaginational map 2 or “imap 2”, made in Berlin, Germany in 2001, reveals the wide range of influences—from mathematics, architecture, and technology to choreography and the visual arts—on Rajesh Mehta’s artistic work, which includes various musical and interdisciplinary productions.
The drawing formed the basis for the musical composition for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) DVD “Sounding Buildings–Inaugurating M.I.T.’s Simmons Hall”, in collaboration with Architect Steven Holl, October 2002. See & Hear the video

imap 2 also was the basis of the musical and navigational score for he live performance of Sounding Buildings in the Lewis Glucksman Modern Art Gallery, Cork, Ireland (Architects: Sheila O`Donnell and Mark Tuomey).
